I looked for years for an all-natural shampoo free of any chemicals, thickeners, and detergents and finally ran across this shampoo bar! Liggett’s Shampoo Bar is made of a 100% vegetable oil formulation (a blend of coconut, castor, and olive oils) and lathers just like a regular shampoo. The best part is you don’t need to use conditioner since there aren’t any detergents. I usually order mine online. One $7 bar lasts us about a month for two people. I also love to use this bar when traveling, because it’s gentle enough on the face and body to use as a facial cleanser and body soap – so all I need is this one bar for all my cleaning needs!

I am so going to love this new section. Over the years I have switched to cleaning with vinegar and baking soda because I, like you, don’t want the chemicals in my home. Thank you so much for educating us!
I’ll definitely be trying this! Also going to get one of these as a stocking stuffer for my boyfriend.
Is there any benefit to this over using just a soda or vinegar rinse?
I’m not an expert, but I find the advantage to this shampoo is that there aren’t any chemicals or detergents in it so it doesn’t strip the hair of any oils. This is why you don’t need to use a conditioner when you use this shampoo. The Liggett’s site also has great information about their products that you might find helpful.
Cool! I love this idea for the branch-off section. I’m totally going to try this!
Do you only use the ‘original’ bar shampoo or have you tried their other ‘flavors’?
I haven’t tried the other flavors yet mainly b/c the original is the one I can find most easily.
This shampoo is amazing! Thank you Carrie for the recommendation.
I just found the shampoo bars on Vitacost. Cost $4.38 for the original.
I’m curious, do you still use this shampoo bar?
I do! Love it!
We have a 4 year old and a 6month old and due to recent changes to the california baby formula are looking for bath/hair products that will be gentle enough for our girls do you have any recommendations or will these work as well? I also saw your blog on the clovertree products are those safe for the whole family?
Yes, Liggetts is a great soap for the little ones. Branch Basics is also another great soap. Clovertree and Evan Healy are nice options also.
