Are you looking forward to some summer travel this summer? Now that I understand just how effective essential oils can be, I never leave home without oils in my bag!
Here are my top 8 oils for travel (I prefer doTERRA essential oils):
Lavender – this oil is great to put on the skin after a bit too much sun (a must for beach vacations!), to reduce stress, and to help you sleep more soundly. You can use a drop or two and rub on the area of concern, on the back of the neck or bring along your favorite diffuser! My favorite diffuser is the “Aroma Lite” because it’s small, easy to pack and lasts 8 hours!
Breathe – I use this oil for the occasional stuffy nose, or any kind of respiratory support. You can rub 1-2 drops over the lungs, sinuses, feet, back of the neck, or diffuse.
TerraShield – This oil comes in a handy spray bottle, so you can spray directly on the skin and keep the mosquitos and other bugs away. I used some of this last summer when the mosquitos were out in full force and we didn’t get a single bite! Also, the CDC has said that lemon eucalyptus oil is very effective for keeping the mosquitos away
Deep Blue – If you’re planning on doing any hiking this summer, bring some Deep Blue along! You can rub a drop or two directly on the area of concern to soothe sore muscles.
Cedarwood – This is my go-to for a solid night’s sleep. The entire family loves it! You can either rub a drop or two on the feet before bed, or diffuse it along with some lavender. This oil is truly amazing!!
DigestZen – This is my must-have for digestive support! It’s great for occasional nausea, occasional heartburn, or when the digestive system is moving a bit too slow, etc. You can rub a drop or two of the oil on the area of concern, or take a drop or two internally. DigestZen also comes in capsule form, which makes it super easy for travel!
OnGuard – This blend is a natural and effective alternative for immune support. We all use this oil whenever we are traveling, because you just never know what you’ll come in contact with. You can rub a drop or two on the feet 2x a day, on the base of the neck, or take internally. This blend also comes in capsule form to make it easy for travel.
Peppermint – This oil helps to alleviate occasional stomach upset and promotes healthy respiratory function. It also has a cooling affect on the skin, which is great when you’ve gotten a bit too much sun. It’s also a great oil to use to help wake you up and give you more energy (a MUST for car trips!). You can rub a drop or two on your feet, on the back of your neck, on the area of concern, diffuse or take internally.
