The Neat Desk & Recipe Organization

I love food magazines and sharing recipes with friends. When I’m inspired by a photo or recipe, I tear out the page for later use. For many years, I’ve had recipes piling up in terribly unorganized baskets, waiting for me to spend hours entering them into my recipe software. Enter the Neat Desk! Now I’m able to scan all the torn-out pages into my computer and get rid of the piles of papers. I’m rapidly emptying the cluttered baskets and my office is looking cleaner by the day.

I really appreciate the simplicity of the system. The machine came with just a couple of cords and a small pamphlet – the rest is self-explanatory. Within minutes, I was set up and scanning my recipes.

Features I love:
I can scan in black and white or color.
I created folders for different topics like main dish, dessert, etc.
I can search by ingredient. For instance, I can type in “chicken” and the software will pull up all the recipes with chicken in them. Brilliant!
I can scan in and organize all my receipts, business cards, and other documents.

    Argh! I JUST spent hours & hours taking all my bits of paper and compiling them into a huge binder inside plastic sleeves...costly in every way. What a great idea this is, especially with the ingredient search method.Thanks for sharing this so I can come into the new tech world. Love your site-my daughter hooked me up. We enjoy the beauty of the site as well as your beautiful spirit that shines through.

    I just mentioned this to my husband the other night. After finding an employee embezzling from us, I went to work full time. I was already doing the office bookkeeping and management of our household finances plus homeschooling. I must have 4-5 boxes of unorganized receipts not to mention stacks of recipes (several of yours) to try. This would free me up from thinking that "the IRS might need to see this" should I be audited. I would love it! BTW, I love your blog as well!
