It seems the “dog days of summer” have hit most of the country. Hot daytime temperatures make me search for foods that don’t require heat to prepare. Salads, cold fruit and yogurts have graced our menu often this week. Strawberries and cream is one of my summertime favorites; adding softened cream cheese and preserves gives it a bit more sustenance and sweetness. This light, creamy fruit dip is great with berries and dynamite over a piece of pound cake.
